====== Academic Tier Qualification ======

This page contains the Nested Knowledge policy regarding whether a user qualifies for Academic Tier pricing ($19.95/mo/user), or whether an Organization qualifies for having all users qualify for Academic Tier pricing.

===== Who Qualifies for Academic Tier? =====

**To qualify for Academic Tier,** a user must be one of the following Qualifications:

   - A current, active student in a Bachelor's, Masters, MD/DO, or Doctorate program;
  - A current, active graduate or post-doctoral researcher at a university, college, or other educational institution; or
  - A current, active faculty member at a university, college, or other educational institution.

**To qualify for Organization-wide Academic Tier pricing,**  the Organization in question must grant licensed seats only to users who qualify as Academic Tier.

===== What is different about Academic Tier functionality? =====

Academic Tier users have access to the same functionality as the standard Business Tier. However, the only support offered as part of the Academic Tier is technical assistance; research support or training may be provided at the sole discretion of Nested Knowledge, but is otherwise unavailable to Academic Tier users.

===== What restrictions are there on Academic Tier use? =====

Use of the Nested Knowledge software by Academic Tier users and Organizations is restricted to Academic Purposes, defined as:

  * **Non-commercial use,**  meaning use wherein a fee is not charged and the purpose is not the sale of a good or service, and the use or activity is not intended to produce a profit; and
  * **Educational use,**  meaning use for the purpose of education, teaching, distance learning, private study and/or personal research, or **Research use,**  meaning use for the purpose of publishing, presenting, or collating scientific evidence.
<WRAP center round important 60%> By signing up as an Academic Tier user, **you represent and warrant that you meet the Qualifications as an Academic Tier user, and that you will use the Nested Knowledge software solely for Academic Purposes.**

Nested Knowledge reserves the right to revoke Academic Tier pricing for any user or Organization that, **in Nested Knowledge's sole judgment,**  does not meet the Qualifications or has used the Nested Knowledge software for non-Academic Purposes. </WRAP>
